Christ In YouÉ Living His Life As
You!
Col 1:25-29
Christ in youÉ one with youÉ a
mystery. (Eph 5:31-32)
á
Some spiritual truths
lie beyond our intellectual graspÉ they are mysteries, we canÕt understand them, & without H Spirit revelation we will never understand
them.
á
Paul revealed a great
mysteryÉ Christ in you the hope of
glory. (Col 1:27)
á
I no longer live but Christ
lives in meÉ you & He are one.
(Gal 2:20)
o
Mystery: Christ lives in meÉ it looks like me, but it is Christ in me.
á
The one who joins himself
to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
(1Cor 6:17)
o
There are twoÉ they
are one. You & Christ are oneÉ
you function as one.
o
A mysteryÉ he that is joined to the Lord is one spirit (one +
one = one).
á
You are in Christ &
He is in youÉ you are one
& He lives His life thru you as you.
á
When we know we are one with Christ, we will not live in
self-consciousness anymore.
á
Gen 2:24 gives below
line parallel truth so we can better understand spiritual truth.
o
Man & wife are
joined & become one flesh.
á
Mystery: Christ in youÉ not your life but His life manifested in you.
á
Not you producing His
life, but you expressing His lifeÉ as you by faith trust Him to live
thru you, as you. (FaithÉ being certain of what we do not
see. (Heb 11:1))
á
You should have the
same attitude as JesusÉ He humbly
yielded all to allow the Father to express His love & life thru Him. (Phil
2:5-11)
ChristÉ who is your life. (Col
3:4)
á
What does ChristÕs
life living thru you look likeÉ humble
& meek! (Mt 11:28-29)
o
Learn from meÉ how He lived out the FatherÕs life within & thru
his life.
á
The life Jesus lived,
He lived to God. (Rm 6:10) Jesus is
within us & He is living His life unto God thru usÉ He only does the will of the Father to the glory of
God. (Jn 4:34)
o
I do exactly what my
Father has commanded. (Jn 14:31)
o
God lived his life in
JesusÉ it looked like Jesus, but life
of the Father. (Jn 14:7-10)
o
Jesus always manifested
the life of the Father who was in Him.
á
Embrace & trust
Jesus in you as your life,
just as you trusted Him for your salvation.
o
It is not striving, but trusting that releases ChristÕs life in you.
á
Jesus said I Am the
life (Jn 14:6)É Life has been in us
all along.
á
Hidden w/Christ in
God (Col 3:3)É We live, move &
have our being in ChristÉ
o
No longer you living
your life, but Christ living His life in you as you. (Gal 2:20)
o
There will be a day
when we see that
Christ is our life. (Col 3:1-4)
o
You will see yourself in ChristÉ & also see that Christ within you is your life.
á
Christ lives in
youÉ you live in Him. (1Jn 4:15)
á
When we see both Christ in me & me in Christ, we begin to
experience fullness of Christ.
o
God wants us to be
filled to all the fullness of Christ. (Eph 4:13)
Our soul & spirit are differentÉ & often opposed. (Heb
4:12)
á
To know union with
Christ & GodÕs rest, Spirit has to reveal truth to us regarding our soul
& spiritÉ they are different & often opposed.
á
Only GodÕs Word can
separate soul (thoughts & emotions) & spirit, or thoughts &
intentions of the heart (spirit). (Heb 4:12)
á
Intent of heart is
fixedÉ it is for God. Thoughts & feelings fluctuate & differ from
spirit.
á
We were created to be spirit dominated beings. God is Father of our spirit (Heb 12:9), our
spirit is one with Him (1Cor
6:17) & lives in union with Him.
A
swingÉ insight into
operation of our soul & spirit. (ÒThe Rest of the GospelÓ by D Stone)
á
Where swing is
attached is like the spiritÉ
quiet, no movement, anchor, place of security.
á
Bottom of swing
(seat) is like our soulÉ changing
with every thought/circumstance.
á
We donÕt like our soul
to fluctuate between good & badÉ we try to stop ÒswingingÓ of our soulÉ
thinking maturity is getting it under control.
o
We try to nail up
our swing on the ÒgoodÓ side so
it wonÕt swing back to bad.
á
The life we can attain
thru self effort is described in Gal 5:21.
á
God uses the swings in
our soul life to push us into living by faith out of our spirit.
á
When we recognize our
utter badness & come to the end of ourselves & renounce self & all
its striving after holinessÉ then the H Spirit, who already dwells in us, takes
full control & bear His own glorious fruit (Gal 5:22-23É ChristÕs life) in
our daily life.
Christ in youÉ the way to GodÕs rest. (Heb 4:10)
á
He who enters GodÕs
restÉ rests from his own work. (Heb 4:10)
á
Entering the rest of God
is the ceasing from self-effort & yielding ourselves in full surrender to
GodÕs working in, thru, & as us.
á
Two stages in the
ChristianÕs life: First, after conversion the believer seeks to work what God
would have him do. Second, after
many painful failures he ceases from his work, enters the rest of God & there finds indwelling presence & power of
H Spirit to allow Christ to live in, thru & as him.
o
Failure is the door thru which we pass to true strength &
victory. Thru failure, we are brought face to face with our sin & weakness,
& we learn to surrender to Christ in you, & thereby receive true
strength. (2Cor 12:9-10)
á
Not just that He is with
you or in you helping you, but He is in you living His life as
you.
á
His life is never
exhausted or bitter, but always merciful, forgiving, & loving. No longer
pressure of performance & goodness, but rest in Him & let Him be all & all in us.
á
In repentance & rest
is your salvation, in quietness
& trust is your strength. (Isa
30:15)
á
If you judge reality by
your soul (below the line) you will miss GodÕs rest & peaceÉ may we hear
the quiet voice of the spirit & live in the rest He has promised.
